Usually a sound a well thought out polite argument suites a situation the best. Sometimes it is good to be immature. Observe:
(in a thread mocking the iPad's stupid feminine hygiene name, this man swoops in to defend Apple)
Guy: As consumers we associate the name of a product with that product and not necessarily with the objects referred to by the denotative meanings of the words used in the product's name. We do the same with companies too. When we hear about Apple we do not think of a fruit, even when their logo is right in front of us. Netbooks, laptops, desktops. Every name sounds weird at first. Some people even drive cars named after animals and don't think twice about it.
For instance RAV4. Who would drive one of those? The acronym stands for: Recreational Active Vehicle with 4-wheel drive. A lot of money goes into researching and developing a name. That is why a lot of product names flow seamlessly into our consumeristic lifestyles.
